3 Point & Free Throw Contest
Overview: The 1 on 1 Basketball Tournament gives students the opportunity to determine who is the best individual player on campus. The tournament is on Election Day (no classes) starting at 2pm. Participants will be put into a "random" double elimination tournament bracket. Men's and Women's Divisions are available and based on the number of participants, the Men's Division may be split into 6 ft. and over and 5 ft. 11 in. and under. Games are self-officiated and played at the Rec Center Basketball Courts. An IM Supervisor will be available to monitor the games and has the authority to settle disputes. Constant arguments will result in possible forfeit of one of both parties. The games are "Loser's Out", not make it take it. After made baskets, out of bounds, fouls, and violations, the ball must be checked in at the top of the key. All turnovers require players to go back to the top of the key (both feet and the ball) prior to making an offensive move. Gamees are played to 11 with a cap of 15 or a 15 minute time limit. Regular basketball 2pt. shots are worth 1 pt. and 3 pt. shots are worth 2 pts in the Tournament. Registration Information: The deadline for the 1 on 1 Basketball Tournament is Monday, November 3rd by noon. Cost is $3/person. All registration forms must be filled out completely with all the relevant information. IF THERE ARE LESS THAN 4 PARTICIPANTS SIGNED UP FOR THE MEN'S & WOMEN'S DIVISION, the IM Department has the discretion to cancel the tournament and those registered will be refunded.
