Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, the Department provides a broad-based education that uniquely integrates theatre and dance to develop versatile theatre artists. There are two Bachelor of Arts degree programs: Theatre, for those interested in performing, teaching, directing or other backstage work, and Child Drama, for those interested in creating theatre for young people. Students can also choose a minor in Theatre or Dance or a concentration in Theatre Design or Dance. Specialization in Theatre Minors and Concentrations Minor in Theatre Design Graduate Programs The M.A. in Theatre is a solid academic degree having a strong base of production courses capped off with equally demanding study in the literature and theory of theatre. The Certificate in Theatre Practice focuses on the acquisition of skills across the spectrum necessary to create theatre work or to complement the work in the College of Education M.E.D. program.
