Production

The Department of Theatre & Dance produces an annual performance season of theatre and dance in Tohill Theatre on the campus of Rowan University. An integral component of the curriculum of the Department of Theatre & Dance, the production program provides Rowan students a lab experience in theatre and dance performance, technical production, and design. Four main stage productions, directed by faculty or guest artists, are mounted for the public annually in Tohill Theatre, a 535-seat proscenium theatre located in Bunce Hall.

In addition to the main stage season, the department also showcases performances by artist-in-residence companies-Melanie Stewart Dance Theatre and Paule Turner | c o u r t-as well as by student performance groups, such as Lab Theatre and Dance Extensions. Each year, the completely student-produced Lab Theatre mounts two to three productions in the department's Studio Theatre, a 75-seat black box theatre. Dance Extensions produces dance concerts featuring student choreography and dancers in Tohill Theatre.
